Training is hard!

Training is hard!

My previous post explained how I created a workout plan with the help of Chat GPT. Here I want to blog about me actually using this workout plan and how I have been getting on.

After creating the workout plan on the evening of Wednesday 23rd July, I then set about using this after work on Thursday 24th.

I really underestimated how unfit I was/am and I really struggled to carry the exercises out. I only did one round but once I had completed them all ( I totally didn't pause half way through most of them as I found them really difficult /s ) I did feel really good about myself for doing it and was quite looking forward to doing it again the day after. After all, my plan was to do this for about 4-6 weeks and see where this gets me.

Friday was a total bust, I woke up with pain in my legs and groin and struggled to do much. That being said, I went for a walk with the dog and my eldest son to try and stretch my muscles. This was really enjoyable and looking at my health app on my phone, surprisingly, I did more than I did on Thursday.

Saturday was a lot of fun. I played football on a field with my boys in the hot sun for about 3-4 hours. I wasn't wearing my watch or had my phone on me so much of this wasn't recorded but I did again take the dog for a walk that evening and could actually feel some benefit to the exercise I had been doing that day.

Sunday, Today!
This morning I felt really good about myself and had quite a good nights sleep (sleeping has been another problem for me - maybe I'll write a blog post about this also soon)

I got up and took myself on a walk. I put my phone in my pocket (ensuring it was recording my activity) and put in my earbuds with some upbeat music on. The route I took was 1.8 miles and it started downhill past a farm where they keep horses. Eventually the route back had to take me back uphill and this really tested my legs. I really felt those shin splints (god i'm really, really unfit)

The route took 34 mins in total (thats bad right?)

Like on Thursday, after competing the workout I had created, I felt really good.

I plan on walking this route on a daily basis (lets see if I actually do) As I am writing this, I have just again walked the dog, and have discovered a blister on my foot and my other foot is really stiff and achy.

Its payday soon and I plan on joining a gym. My son goes to one nearby and I reckon i'm going to join him in going on a regular basis. I would very much like to arrange some 1 on 1 PT sessions. I am quite determined to get rid of this belly fat and lose some weight.

Below are some images showing my steps, active time & activity calories since Thursday.
(also just as a reference, i'm currently 14st in weight) I'll blog again on this next Sunday and we'll see if i've actually kept to my word and what my weight is then.
